Ο Δημήτρης Τσιαχρής είναι Καρδιολόγος – Επεμβατικός Ηλεκτροφυσιολόγος, Επίκουρος Καθηγητής στο Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Εισήχθη στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών δια των Πανελληνίων εξετάσεων το 1995. Εκπαιδεύτηκε στο Ιπποκράτειο Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών υπό τη διεύθυνση του Καθηγητού, Χριστόδουλου Στεφανάδη, και εξειδικεύθηκε στην επεμβατική ηλεκτροφυσιολογία στο φημισμένο Νοσοκομείο του Μιλάνου «San Rafaelle» δίπλα στον Paolo Della Bella με υποτροφία της Ελληνικής Καρδιολογικής Εταιρείας.

Έχει εξειδικευθεί στην εκτέλεση όλων των συμβατικών και σύμπλοκων πράξεων της επεμβατικής ηλεκτροφυσιολογίας (καταλύσεις – ablation υπερκοιλιακών αρρυθμιών εμφυτεύσεις βηματοδοτών, απινιδωτών και αμφικοιλιακών συστημάτων).
Είναι εκπαιδευτής (proctor) για την διενέργεια ablation κολπικής μαρμαρυγής με τη χρήση των νεότερων συστημάτων κρυοπηξίας τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και στη Ευρώπη αλλά και των πλέον σύγχρονων τεχνικών απομόνωσης πνευμονικών φλεβών. Εξειδικεύεται στην πραγματοποίηση σύμπλοκων καταλύσεων κοιλιακών ταχυκαρδιών με τη χρήση των πλέον σύγχρονων συστημάτων ηλεκτροανατομικής χαρτογράφησης, τόσο ενδοκαρδιακά όσο και επικαρδιακά.

Το 2015 ίδρυσε ένα από τα καλύτερα εργαστήρια ηλεκτροφυσιολογίας και βηματοδότησης στο πλαίσιο λειτουργίας του Πρότυπου Κέντρου Καρδιάς και Αγγείων «Athens Heart Center» στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών

Έχει επίσης εξειδικευθεί στις εμφυτεύσεις των νέων μικροσκοπικών βηματοδοτών χωρίς καλώδια, στην διαδερμική σύγκλειση του ωτίου του αριστερού κόλπου για την πρόληψη του εγκεφαλικού επεισοδίου (left atrial appendage closure), στην εμφυτεύσεις πλήρως υποδόριων απινιδωτών και στις καταλύσεις του νευρικού πλέγματος των νεφρικών αρτηριών (renal denervation) δίπλα στον πρωτοπόρο καθηγητή Καρδιολογίας Κωνσταντίνο Τσιούφη.

Το ερευνητικό του ενδιαφέρον έχει εστιαστεί στην θεραπεία της κολπικής μαρμαρυγής, στην πρόληψη του αιφνίδιου καρδιακού θανάτου, στην αντιμετώπιση της καρδιακής ανεπάρκειας και στις σύμπλοκες καταλύσεις κοιλιακών ταχυκαρδιών σε συνεχή συνεργασία με τα μεγαλύτερα κέντρα του εξωτερικού.
Έχει συνολικά δημοσιεύσει 170 πλήρεις δημοσιεύσεις και πάνω από 500 επιστημονικά άρθρα υπό μορφή περιλήψεων, τα περισσότερα εκ των οποίων σε περιοδικά μεγάλου κύρους. Έχει συγγράψει κεφάλαια επιστημονικών συγγραμμάτων και είναι κριτής σε πολλά διεθνή ιατρικά περιοδικά.
